What is the course about?

This course explores Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which has become one of the main models for counselling in recent years especially in the NHS. Evidence shows it is effective in helping with mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. Two key CBT ideas are : what you think affects how you feel, and what you do affects how you feel. In this course you will discover ten key CBT ideas. The course is practical as well as theory-based and will include step-by-step procedures of the stages in CBT.

What will we cover?

The programme will include the following:

Practical techniques such as thought records and behavioural experiments.
Case studies and illustrations.

The course provides an introduction to existential counselling and psychotherapy.

What will we cover?

The course will give a brief overview of existentialism and the history of existential counselling, followed by an outline of the theory and practice of existential counselling, including consideration of a case study.

Supercharge your Practice with Positive Psychology - January 2015 one day Workshop

 I'm presenting a one-day workshop in Janauary on Positive Psychology and how it can help your clients in Guildford on Saturday 24th January. 
It costs just £50 including lunch and refershments

         We are going to start with a tour of Positive Psychology - strengths, happiness, flow, meaning in life, wisdom and values, enriched with tf examples from real life and  films

           You will then learn how to apply these ideas to  yourself  so you can develop a growth mindset, identify and use your strengths to achieve your own potential as a counsellor, therapist or coach in 2016. This "inside-out" approach also enables you to better apply these skills with your clients.

        There will also be plenty of  time for a Positive Psychology clinic, where we will explore how   Positive Psychologycan help specific client issues you would like help with.
